Laurel Falls

Location: Little River Road

Roundtrip Length: 2.3 Miles

Total Elevation Gain: 314 Feet

This popular hiking trail is located right outside of Wears Valley. It is 2.6 miles roundtrip and leads to a beautiful 80-foot waterfall. This hike is rated moderate in difficulty, but the hike is well worth the picturesque waterfall views. The duration of this hike is approximately 2 hours.

Porters Creek Trail

Location: Greenbrier

This trail, located near Gatlinburg, is perfect for the whole family! In the summer, this trail is blanketed with white wildflowers! Not only is there beautiful scenery all around, but you also pass historic structures that are perfect for showing the little ones how life used to be in The Great Smoky Mountains. Porters Creek Trail is 4 miles roundtrip and is the perfect place to enjoy scenic nature scapes.

Baskins Creek Falls

Baskins Creek Falls is one of the most popular hikes in The Great Smoky Mountains for a few amazing reasons! This hike is only 3 miles roundtrip and leads to a 40-foot 2-tiered waterfall! During this hike you will also pass Baskins Cemetery, another great location to teach the kids about history in The Smokies.

Abrams Falls

Location: Cades Cove

Total Elevation Gain: 675 Feet

Abrams Falls is a moderately difficult hike that is 5.2 miles roundtrip. You can find this trail in Cades Cove, along with historic sites, mountain views, and open fields known for being a great place to spot bears, deer, turkey, and all the other wildlife The Great Smoky Mountains have to offer. Experience lush rhododendron growth as you hike this trail. The waterfall is about 20 feet tall, and is one of the most voluminous falls in the park.
